![]() Suzanne de Martimprey joined us in March 2022 as the Gallery Manager for Plumas Arts. Suzanne was born and raised in Westwood, CA, the small Lassen county town, neighboring the Plumas. She spent most of her childhood and adolescence hard at work in the family business, Lassen True Value. Her parents, to this day and now nearly for forty years, provide a foundational service for the small community. She spent a year living and studying in Los Angeles, on scholarship, pursuing a degree in classical opera at BIOLA University, before moving to Quincy. Upon arriving in Quincy in 2016, she began working for a degree in Outdoor Recreation through Feather River College. In the middle of that pursuit, left Quincy to teach English Second Language and Physical Ed. in Jamaica, Belize, & Costa Rica. A year later she returned to finish her degree, and develop a deep and broad love for this community. At the beginning of the pandemic, she had to wave goodbye to the opportunity to run Outdoor Education Programs for international schools in SouthEast Asia, however she plans to pursue that opportunity once again down the line, and has thoroughly enjoyed being rooted here and building community. She spends her free time painting, writing, and performing music, as well as expanding her love of the natural word and all of the ways to enjoy it both restfully and actively. Suzanne is looking forward to growing her connection to the art community here through Plumas Arts, to share and be receptive to the creative passions that thrive within this community.
